I'm thinking of sticking this(http://linitx.com/product/ablytech-s...-adapter/11922) in my note 4 and using a kingston sd card as they're much cheaper per gb than micro sd cards.

Micro SD is cheap enough. I wouldn't bother personally.

post a pic how you did that. IMHO that does not work witout spoiling the hardware which then would not be worth the buy. the basic idea i like, perhaps if you find a back cover only and cut it out accordingly or someting like that?

I wouldn't bother. Spend the cash and get a decent quality micro SD card. For a little more money than the adaptor you can get one of these.

That's what i have in my note 3 and it's fine. Plenty fast, plenty space and a legit card. Not some cheap knock off.

I already have a class 10 samsung 64gb micro sd but want more space. My reasoning behind wanting to take this route(since abandoned due to lack of space) was that a 200gb micro sd from sandisk is 250 quid while a kingston class 256gb 10 sd card is £120. Also tbh I don't like sandisk as a brand and don't trust their reliability.

What about getting a OTG cable for your device? i have one too for when i travel on buisness and need to watch stuff on my tablet.

Wireless storage might be a good idea. What are the battery life on those things? I have an otg cable but keeping a hdd hooked to my phone feels like too much work and effort and especially on flights or on the tube its a bit of a headache.

dunno exactly what you mean with hassle, do you mean hard to find out which are good? however, i feel somehow the same thing, all micro sd cards i ever had, and none of them was excessively used and/or alder than 3 years, in fact hardly 2 years, ceased to work properly or entirely. similar things happened to one of my SSD for my mac book pro. generally i consider all those memories as not reliable, hence one needs a proper backup policy :-)
