Re: Fusion Remote/ Fusion Remote Max

I'm a Fusion Remote Black user and have the exact same problem... it's too bright to be useful.

I'm also a mediaportal user, which has an integrated MiniDisplay plugin that allows some customization of brightness and contrast (among other things) and makes it a bit more usable (still it looks horrible in a darkened room).

I'm thinking of trying the car tinting film... does anyone have an idea about what % of light blocking should it have to work well?

Thanks and greetings from Spain! ;-)

EDIT: Btw, I dunno if someone has already posted it, but there's also a discussion on the imon/soundgraph forums about this issue... basically, Imon blames Antec for not using the filtering film on the LCD and also suggest the tinting film. it's here: htpcinside.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1594#post1594

Found a useful thread here: http://blog.insanegenius.com/2008/04...htpc-case.html

If you look at the display on the iMon website (link below) its nothing like what you get in an Antec Fusion case.

    http://www.soundgraph.com/Eng_/Produ...=3&leftMenu=43

I suspect the problem is caused by Antec, but as neither Antec nor iMon admit they have done something wrong its the customers that suffer.

I wish I could buy a display direct from iMon that would slot in to my fusion case. Maybe some kind person at iMon might set this up (one day)...

Like I said before, there are different colour panels. All Antec uses the negative blue LCD panel and hence the bright background.

Odd then that my older Antec NSK 430 has exactly the same negative blue LCD and this is not overbright. It looks exactly like the blue LCD shown on the soundgraph page, unlike the lastest Fusion cases I have seen.

Also odd that a blue LCD would show pink as a background colour.

Wow, MonkeyL, you must be one of Antec's most patient customers! And I didn't remember spotting one in the thread at all!

I was considering a Fusion Remote case myself as one of two possibilities, though now I've read through this thread I think I'm pretty much set on not doing so (probably a Silverstone LC16M instead). Obviously you're trying to sort things out rather than warn people off, but I appreciate you putting it all up here for us to read.

Best of luck getting it sorted. I hope the new customer support team gets things moving.

Re: Fusion Remote/ Fusion Remote Max

I’m wondering if anyone has actually successfully RMAed a screen back to Antec and what did you get back?

If they are able to fix this with an RMA, then why do they continue to sell cases with an LCD that is more-or-less useless?

They seem to have a “who cares” attitude: At the very least Antec should enable us to buy a screen that we can swap with the “crap” that’s originally installed. But, I guess they don’t want to do that, because then they would be admitting there is a problem and have to RMA everyone’s case. In the mean time they continue to sell this popular case knowing it has a “useless” screen…

I don’t care that much about replacing my screen (as I mentioned before) I already knew the screen “sucked” before I bought it. What I do care about though is how Antec seem to have such disregard for their customers.

I guess eventually someone at Antec with pull their finger out and stick some better displays on their production line. Perhaps at that point it may be possible to get a swap-out replacement for the current screens.

    Not holding my breath.

Thanks for your input ecac and Ironbuket, indeed it is a sad state of affairs. Maybe it's time to start emailing the CEO and board of directors directly.

On the plus side it looks like Soundgraph are going to open an online store so it may be possible to replace the LCD with one that's not a bit broken at some time in the future.

I think you should buy another case so that Antec knows their case suck.

Re: Fusion Remote/ Fusion Remote Max

OK, well I became weak and in a moment of madness ordered another.. my 7th

Got it home, plugged it in.. and guess what... a big pink square ... blast

Oh well, no one to blame but myself. (and Antecs non existant QA)

Gunna go through the RMA for the LCD rather than returning it again and again... lets see how that turns out... a total disaster last time so probably a waste but I live in hope.

If all else fails it'll have to be the tinting film.

So to anyone who's bothered, the LCD issues on Fusion cases are not resolved.
