    P183/P193 and cpu coolers

    Hi

Will the fan of the P193 obstruct the use of a scychte kama angle cpu cooler and if so would this not be the case in the P183?

    Many thanks.

    Hi aidan,

Sorry to get back a touch late, as I was out of the office. I spoke to tech support and they said that the P193 and P183 will not obstruct the use of a scychte kama angle cpu cooler. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Thanks.

    Re: P183/P193 and cpu coolers

No problem Nick, thanks for getting back to me.

That's good to hear, I just wanted to double check as around and about the intereweb people seem unsure as to whether the P193 fan would obstruct a 160mm cooler as it protrudes into the case a tad.

    Cheers, thanks again.

    Hi Kgbmcse!

Unfortunately, the Titan TTC-NK85TZ Fenrir will not fit in an Antec P193. The maximum height for heat sink fans with the P193 is 140mm. With the unique design of the P193, the P193's superior cooling eliminates the need for larger heatsinks.

    Regards,
    Antec

    Re: P183/P193 and cpu coolers

I want to purchase a P193, I'm having difficulty finding a good cpu for cooling while overclocking that is quite and WILL FIT IN A P193.
Can anyone help before I get fed up and choose a coolermaster 840.

As a P193 owner with a core i7 920 and an Arctic Freezer Pro 7 rev 2, I dispute that statement - when stressed my CPU temps increase up to 85-90 degrees even with all the case fans on full speed.

We both have a problem finding a high perfomance cpu cooler that can fit in a Antec p193

One possibility might be the upcoming Nexus VCT 9000 which I believe is 145mm tall and may just about fit into the P193, other than that you could try the Corsair H50 water cooler mounted on one of the 140mm top exhaust fans using a 120mm-140mm adaptor bracket.

I did consider water cooling for my P193 but didn't think it'd be a good idea in a case with a bottom-mounted PSU and no side panel window to look inside for early signs of leaks.

I did see a very favourable review of a Supermicro fan than has a 92mm quiet fan and cooled an i7 to 6 degrees warmer than a Titan Fenrir, but sadly, it's only for Xeon systems.

Hopefully technoclogy will evolve to make smaller high-performance air coolers and hopefully the aforementioned Nexus cooler is a step in that direction.

    Re: P183/P193 and cpu coolers

For anyone who needs to know, I finally got a P183 and the Scythe Kama Angle does fit with a couple of mm spare.

    It's 160mm high BTW.
Grab that. Get that. Check it out. Bring that here. Grab anything useful. Take anything good.

What's that, 158/159mm? Then yes, in a P183 anyways, like I say the Kama Angle fits in with a couple of mm spare and that's 160mm high.

I very much doubt in a P193, the side fan on that case seems to come a very long way in. I don't know for definite on that one though.

    Re: P183/P193 and cpu coolers

A Coolermaster Hyper 212+ will not fit in a Antec P193 case, however it will fit in a P183. If you are really into CPU coolers I would recommend getting the P183 because it should fit most CPU coolers on the market. The P193 on the other hand is designed for superior cooling which eliminates the need for larger CPU cooler.
