iOS4 on a jailbroken iPhone 3G, worth it?

So iOS4 is out, couple of useful features but nothing is grabbing me at all.

I use SBSettings for quick access to flightmode/wifi & categories for storing my games (approx 40+ in one folder)
If I update then folders will be nice but a max of 12 in each means I'll need 4+ folders whereas I previously had one, I'd lose my shortcuts to wifi/etc & gain.....well, I'm not sure

I've read enough on the new OS to know the main features but does anyone know any new features not so well documented that would help the jump easier?

    Cheers!

    Rob

I've done it - but thats because mines going to cex in a couple of days!

Seems a little quicker - and at the moment - the JB is happening for me - redsn0w have released one thats supposed to work - however it isnt for me

you dont get the wallpapers etc, but JB allows that and the mutitasking on a 3G

on a standard 3G? Probably not worth it to be honest..the big improvements such as multi tasking, wallpapers, folders and the like you will already have versions of (albeit in a much rougher fashion), and you won't get some of those on your standard 3G anyway with iOS4.

I'd stick with the Jailbreak if I were you.

if you upgrade to iOS4 - and then jailbreak it, you get all the features of the 3GS including mutitasking..

it's just waiting for a more stable jailbreak to come out. I tried Redsn0w beta 5 and it didnt want to play ball for me!

You may well do but you'll likely have some performance/battery issues, at least for a while until the jailbreak is improved for this version. As is always the case, wait at least a week after pwnage team releases before doing it..in my past experience this has always been a benefit

Yeah - thats usually the case. I've rolled it to iOS4 - but thats only cus im selling it on thursday once i get my new shiny iPhone4

I'll hack it once the dev team produce a more stable setup - until then I can live with it! I'm sure geoshot and co are working on a more developed procedure.

I have a 3g, upgraded to ios4. Performance was lousy, so i rolled back to 3.2, which with jailbreak apps offers everything i need.

Re: iOS4 on a jailbroken iPhone 3G, worth it?

Have to say I'm loving iOS4 - but I'm on an ipod touch true 3g so it does take advantage of it. Wouldn't say there's much point on a iphone 3g.

I currently have a 3gs iPhone which is jailbroken. Is there anyway I can revert it to the point as if I had just purchased it?
