9600 which MBP Sorry it appears I am a bit thick. I am investigating the cheapest 15" MBP with a 9600 so it can game a bit. I have been looking at http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/hom...y/macbook_pro/ and I cannot find from there which MBPs have the NVIDIA 9400M and which have the 9600M GT. For those models where it says "NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 256MB" does this mean it comes with both onboard and discrete ? Help !

Re: 9600 which MBP Also can someone give me some guidance on the best place to buy one. If I bought one now for ~ £1200 how much do you think it would be worth in 2 years ? i.e. is it really worth the premium as the resale is much better ?

Re: 9600 which MBP if you read carefully only the 2.66 GHz onwards have both 9400M + 9600M, under the 2.53 it just says 9400M. The difference between 2.66 and the 2.8 is the GPU memory of 256MB and 512MB respectively. when buying these high priced machines with regards to resale really depends on your luck. Like if you have bought an imac last year and then this year they came out with a really nicer look 27" for around the same price then your imac would drop considerably. So in two years if they came out with a fancier macbook pro then you will see second hand ones drop like bricks. A quick glance on fleabay will show you that the pre-unibodies are now selling for around £500 to £700. Of course it is also dependent on other factors such as applecare warranty, condition, battery cycle, etc. hope it helps. If you need more advice just ask
