| Ati all-in-wonder 9600 series Recently on accessing TV after about 2 minutes, sometimes longer, the normal voice/music sound is replaced with static. Sometimes the static disappears but not for long. I haven't a clue what the problem is. I know just enough about computers to continually get me into trouble. I am overdue for a Catalyst driver update, but every time I install the update I lose the TV etc. so I revert to what works. Art |

Others with your similar situation went into Device manager and replaced the NSP drivers with the old SP driver requiring them to then plug in the External Audio jack into their sound card (this was the original design of the cards). Anyway, others used a method of simply copying two particular files into a folder in the windows directory. I can't give you the specific details off the top of my head because i simply can't remember the files....further it wasn't my hard work that solved the problem. I can't remember the names even, but I recently re-read the threads. Try using google and search that site specifically. Good Luck. With a catalyst version of 6.2 or prior and MMC version 9.06.1 or before you shouldn't have too many issues with that set up. If you've already monkey'd around with a newer Catalyst and MMC you need to not only un-install the files but use something like DRIVER CLEANER PRO ($9.99) or something similar offered on Guru3d's site for Free (Caller Driver ???). If not that then manually editing the registry and deleteing all the files that ATI/MS throws around. |
