A-I-W x800XT (Trying to use newest Catalyst drivers & whatever verison MMC will work?

Hi,
I'm re-using my A-I-W x800XT in a Core 2 Duo setup.
I've tested the newest Catalyst Drivers 7.10 and thought that the increase in benchmark scores from 1864 to 2209 is worth what's turning out to be a lot of work to get the TV tuner to function with it.

The CD that came with the card installs Display Adapters 12/7/2004
6.14.10.6497 - with these drivers I get the 1864 score on 3dmark06.
The TV Function (and all the other items CD, DVD player etc work just fine).
...Although the system capatibility test lists (3) errors (says I don't have a ATI card...another error with direct x9 and something else i can't remember right off. But anyway all the functions work.

I've tried everyway I can think to get a working setup with the new version of Catalyst 7.10 to work with ANY VERSION OF MMC PRIOR TO 9.13.
IS THAT POSSIBLE?
Reason: I don't want the TV on demand function running all the time so the highest version of MMC that ATI posts (prior to 9.13) is 9.08
I've tried Catalyst 7.10 with MMC 9.03, 9.13, 9.08, 9.16, 9.06. With the newest versions (9.13, 9.16) the TV function DOES Start.

However, with MMC versions 9.08, 9.06, and the original 9.03 all of the other programs start up & run fine (DVD, CD, but not the TV). I get the Unable to start wizard. I run the tests and this time everything gets passing marks. However no TV? When I click on the TV tab ther is NO listing (it simply says unsupported). Which is obviously different than what it does under the older versions of Catalyst. Device Manager has no problems and under the sound...it lists teh T200 as functions correctly.

I can't describe how frustrated I am with ATI's drivers and website...descriptions or lack there of.

Also little things like, if I want Guide Star Plus, and the DVD decoder I have to dig them out of the CD manually with no instructions on order that things have to be installed. -OR- Some programs don't have individual uninstalls. So its a guessing game where/what programs need to be uninstalled re-installed to accomplish what.
Why can't Guidestar & the DVD decoder be available online? Verification via installation CD.
ATICDwiz.exe? Maybe this is supposed to be the DVD decoder but...This process asks for the location of the original CD for verification, point it to the drive & that's fine, but once verified it asks for the location of a previously installed or the second option is to download from ATI. I HAVE YET TO GET EITHER OF THESE OPTIONS to work correctly? How about a note on the website what file is needed. Because the default jumps to a temp folder and setup.exe is highlighted. The only problem, in my case that is a soundchip driver....after it re-installs that driver , it says it's complete??? I've tried everything I could think of but ? I don't know if its just a glitch and it's done what it's supposed to do or not?? But without having previously installed from the original CD the DVD decoder I get an error saying I won't have that function.... so I am guessing that it is not installing correctly.
