Guide Plus+ PanelAd.ocx refuses to register

This may not apply to European users, but who knows someone might have a clue.

Guide Plus worked just fine with my AIW9800 Pro and XP SP2 until I installed IE7 beta 2 and the latest ATI suite.

I made the mistake of uninstalling everything, including Guide Plus. Now I can't get PanelAd.ocx to register, either by itself or manually with regsvr32 (returns a 0x80040201 error). I even reinstalled .NET Framework 2.0 (because I've fixed various odd probs by doing this before), then went back to IE6, then used 'sfc /scannow' to make sure system files were intact, and finally reinstalled 'ie.inf'.
Nothing from any of the knowledge bases I've tried has helped.

I suppose IE7 could have changed some permissions that going back to IE6 didn't correct, but I'm not sure which ones are relevant -- there are tons of IE keys.

The Guide Plus updater works, and I get the initial schedule setup window, but can't proceed past that, as it returns an "Exception EOleSysError in module PGETV.exe at 0008C75A. Class not registered."

I used Dependency Walker to profile regsvr32 as it worked on PanelAd.ocx, but couldn't pinpoint the prob with that. If somebody here thinks they could make sense of the results, I can paste it later.

Thanks..

Disregard.. apparently, my registry was corrupted. An XP repair install fixed this plus a couple other issues.
