AIW 2006 PCI-E RGB Scart

I'm using (sometimes) the rgb scart connector of my aiw2006 pci-e card (the one with analog and dvb-t tuners), however, the picture on the tv (crt tv) isnt all that good compared to an rgb-->scart mod cable I made up for my previous ati product.

Nevermind...that is minor right now.

With the AIW 2006 pci-e using rgb scart, windows etc is all pretty enough, but when I start media center (I am running mce 2005 with rollup2) i.e. the ehshell.exe process then the colour revert to what looks like 16 bit colour, and you can clearly see banding in the picture, even on the main menus as the blue transistions have very bad borders where the bands are.

Exiting mce, and e.g. looking at a picture via normal windows, and what the heck, picture looks fine, no banding...but open ehshell.exe and voila, the banding has come back.

I had been using cat 6.2 at that stage...but right now the card is sitting in the box on my desk. I would still like to use it, but I bought it purely for the direct drive rgb scart, and that is the part letting me down.

Any help, o' ATI-gurus?

Hi madmax222,
That sounds like a pretty strange scenario you describe. I'm not too familiar with the scart setup you have running, but if everything looks fine in Windows, it doesn't seem like a problem with your card. Try to run MCE in window mode, rather than fullscreen and see how it looks then. You can also try getting the latest drivers, but like I said, it doesn't sound like a problem with the hardware, but maybe something wrong with your windows or something. Maybe some other people on the forum have seen this before and could share some comments.
