Re: X1800Pro Crossfire advice If you have an ATI X1800 XT or X1800 XL you need a master X1800 card. If you have an ATI X1800 GTO and buy another X1800 GTO Crossfire is internal and doesn't require a master card. I didn't think an X1800 Pro was ever released so I can't help you with that but my guess is it would be the same as the X1800 XT and XL (requires a master X1800 card)... Keep in mind you need a Crossfire compatible motherboard and a very powerful PSU (lots of +12v power). Crossfire compatible boards include those with Intel 975X chipset and ATI Xpress 3200, you need two physical 16X slots and official Crossfire certification (for driver support). http://ati.amd.com/technology/crossfire/index.html

Re: X1800Pro Crossfire advice thanks Tetras... Turns out its an Radeon X1800 XT ...not sure why I though it was a Pro lol My mobo is crossfire compatible & I have plenty of PSU power I know it may be a stupid question but how do you tell if the card you intend to buy is a master edition? When I have searched for one to buy they are all just listed as X1800 XT not X1800 XT Master and they seem to look the same. thanks again

Re: X1800Pro Crossfire advice There is only one X1800 Master card and it is designated as such. The clock speeds are the same as the XT but afaik it was not sold as an XT. You may have difficulty finding one for sale, they weren't that easy to get hold of even when the X1800 series were current and that rarity commanded high prices through the X1800 price cuts and onto the X1900 series (at which point they started to dissapear from sale completely). You may be better off seeing how much you can get for your X1800 XT and upgrading to the next generation than attempting to secure an X1800 master card with the obligatory premium on the price.
