x800 A-I-W and synchMaster 171b 17 in. falt screen

hello.
I just got an ATI x800 all in wonder and tried to install it. I am running XP Pro SP 2 all updated and blah blah blah... after I installed the card and started the computer, The windows logo appeared but had what looked like extra bars moving across just to the right of where it normally moves. When the Ctrl-Alt-Delete box came up, there were manythick black lines running vertically across the screen with small spaces between them. I could see enough between the lines to log in and they still didnt disappear. I installed the ATI softaware and rebooted....same thing happened when it came back up. I had an ATI 9000 card installed in it and had removed the drivers BEFORE I installed the new card. MY AGP was set to the defaults in the bios . Dioes anyone know what I need to do to get the card to functioon properly.

Your GOU appears to be broken, contact customer service for ATI, they do direct swap out.

90% certain that the card ios faulty. ATI will do direct warranty. Apply through the ati.amd.com website.
