how to uninstall - CATALYST MEDIA CENTER DVD AUTHORING MODULE

I am having a problem getting new ati drivers installed on my puter with my new tv wonder 200 installed on my puter.

so ati gives me this link and tells me to uninstall,then reinstall,
only 1 problem,look...(step 2)

======================================================

Removing Old ATI Software

1.Click on Start, then Control Panel, then go to Add/Remove Programs.

2.At the top of the list you should see several ATI entries. Select the entry entitled (((ATI Software Uninstall Utility))), and click Change/Remove.
3.You will be prompted to restart your system once the uninstall is complete.

4.Once restarted, check the Add/Remove Programs list again for any remaining ATI software.

5.If any ATI software is still listed, click Change/Remove on those entries to uninstall each one individually.

6.Next, please scroll through the list until you find an entry called DAO (see screenshot below).

7.Select DAO, then Click Change/Remove to uninstall this program

=================================================

notice step 2

Select the entry entitled (((ATI Software Uninstall Utility))), and click Change/Remove.

ok now with no uninstall utility HOW ARE YOU GOING TO UNINSTALL ANYTHING =P ????????????????

=======================================================

lost all faith in ati

so i reinstalled windows,installed my motherboard drivers,then downloaded catalyst,read the directions and it said install framework 1.1

so i did as ati said and installed framework 1.1 then installed catalyst.

all was going well and i rebooted.

when i got to desktop,it said i needed to have framework 2.0 or newer
to use catalyst,then locked up.

now i cant even get ti the desktop.

WHY does ati directions say installed 1.1 framework when 2.0 is needed ??????????????????????????

ATI SUCKS and i will never buy there product again...

now i have to reinstall windows again...

Well, for what its worth, you can blame ATI all you want for various reasons but near as I can tell “Catalyst Media Center” is a superficially modified version of Cyberlink PowerCinema 4.x with some add-on applications such as Cyberlink MakeDVD 2.0 and AVIVO functionality.

The error message you received "This software may only be installed with non-trial PowerCinema setup will abort" (which is from the bundled Cyberlink MakeDVD I believe) is a glaring indication that “Catalyst Media Center” is simply licensed software. Licensed By ATI from Cyberlink.

Blaming ATI for the bugs in “Catalyst Media Center” is like blaming ATI for the bugs in “Pinnacle studio”, “Guide Plus”, ATI Decoder (actually Cyberlinks PowerDVD decoder)” or any other bundled / licensed software that ATI offers. Likewise, I could blame nVidia or Visiontek for the questionable Cyberlink software that was bundled with my last Visiontek video card. Similarly one could blame Hauppauge for bundling CyberLink PowerCinema 4.7 with the new WinTV HVR-4000 tuner card (not that WinTV2000 is all that great IMO either)

Its called free bundled software and such packages especially among economy products like the TV Wonder 200 often leave much to be desired.

Now then, seeing as you are basically dealing with Cyberlink software you might want to look at the Cyberlink forums for a solution or e-mailing Cyberlink with questions about their software,...although ATI should be able to address these issues as well,...

I have a number of different versions of Cyberlink PowerCinema including “Catalyst Media Center 1.0” and although I wouldn’t completely condemn it I wouldn’t recommend using it because there are actually better free applications out there. The TV Wonder 200 isn’t a very good TV tuner card solution IMO either since it seems to be little more then a re-named / re-released legacy TV Wonder Pro. In fact the TV Wonder 200 typically has a sticker on it that says “TV Wonder Pro” on the Philips tuner. In some cases you can buy a Theater 550 Pro card (which also comes with PowerCinema) for just a little bit more money or a Hauppauge card.
