Several issues with the TV Wonder 600 (USB)

Well, im kindof new too tv tuner's and i just bought this cause my tv went out and i needed a usb stick too connect to my laptop.. this was just a cheap solution in the meantime untill i can either afford another tv or a PCI tuner device for my desktop. but just installing the thing was a real task.. turned out the drivers are not on the CD and included in the Catalyst media center edition (which i hate with a passion) and the usb drivers ATi has on their website dont work at all. i have afew questions..

1. is their a way to install the device without installing ATi's CME ? I hate this program with a passion, and for whatever reason window's reports a critical error in CME whenever i shutdown. it never fails, and it's really annoying.

2. The only other solution software wise i've found is dsclar, is their any other software that's good and worth a look at? Dsclar is itdescent and works fine. its only fault is it doesnt have recording options. but the other problem is i cant seem to install the tuner device in general without CME

3. At the moment i seem to be forced to work with CME, my laptop uses a widescreen 16:9 monitor. (its a sony vaio, pre installed system so is fairly basic) The one thing i dont like about CME is how it displays the video signal, from what i can tell i think it's only being broadcasted in 4:3 Standard Cause when i change it to 16:9 Wide It looks really stretched and bad.. I can tell the thing to just use standard 4:3 but when i go to full screen it will stretch it to 16:9 making the picture look horrible anyway. is their a way to get around this without making the signal looked stretched?

Any help / insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: Several issues with the TV Wonder 600 (USB)

Check the ATI site for new driver download?
I can't seem to post urls...so gonna try to split it up a little bit.

ht tp://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/tvwonder600-xp

i don't think they'd post CME on the web with their drivers.
