| Can't get theater 650 working in XP MCE I've been using a theater 650 with XP and Beyondtv for a year now with no problems but recently I took it out and put it in another system with XP MCE and I cannot get this card to work. Everytime I try to set up the card in MC I get the error message "no tuner card found". I've done a fresh install of windows MCE 3 times now, I've tried 3 sets of drivers, from the newest ones on the ATI site then the ones of my original install cd and even ones from 2006 and even tried swapping out video cards from an nvidia to an ati. The card does show up in device manager under sound video and game controllers as a ATI unified AVStream driver with no conlicts. If I run the program "MCE tuner extender" and hit get cards it lists my tuners as a analog-ati avstream analog tuner and a digital-ATi BDA digital tuner but then gives me an error stating "there has to be at least one configured tuner in your system. Start MCE and configure one tuner" which of course I can't do because MC keeps saying I don't have a tuner. The program "MCE tuner priority" gives me the error message "unable to find 2 of any tuner type supported" So what am I missing to get this card working in XP MCE? |

| Re: Can't get theater 650 working in XP MCE Wow, Seems like you've covered your bases, If you hadn't re-installed etc (3 Xs). there is a free program that with reset the XP MCE i've used it successfully many times to avoid digging into the registry to manually reset for it and possibly screwing up the registry....the three installs I assume where clean formats etc they would effectively been the long way of doing what the program does. (WHY THE HELL XP MCE doesn't have that built in IDK. And with SP3 it kills there Power toy for MCE... been over a year and they still refuse to do the simple code update). ![]() ![]() Wow, I've got no suggestions BUT I'm very interested in if you ever found a solution to the problem. Or did you just end up using the card in the old system? Or did the card go bad? I had an issue with a new TV Wonder 650, my very first card/installation which made it all the more frustrating where the Tuner was not detected... after I pulled it out and reseated it things went much better but I swear the first time it was in there straight and secured etc so not sure what was different but without doing the reseating I couldn't boot into XP and could barely boot into Vista. |
