How do I switch AV inputs in Theater 550 Pro?

I just bought a new Windows Media Center PC with a Theater 550 Pro pre-installed. Using Windows Media Center, I am able to view/record TV from the 550's cable input and listen to FM radio through the FM input. However, I do not know how to get Windows Media Center to recognize input from the 550's s-video input. How do you tell the PC to use the s-video input?

Thanks for any help!

That's tricky...

MCE doesn't support external video inputs easily. You will have to run the MCE application setup again and pretend you connected a set top box per S-Video in. This should run in parallel with the built-in tuner. Why do you want to watch your S-Video in MCE anyway? Any media application should be able to access the video inputs...

Thank you, that worked. I see what you mean by MCE not supporting external inputs easily. No other media software came with my PC, that's why the MCE.

Thanks again.

MCE AV Input Problems

I am having the same problem with MCE and Theater 550 Pro tv tuner. I can't get Media Center to recognize the AV in from that purple dongle. My kids use this pc to watch/record tv and they want to plug in a cheapo game which connects via audio/video cables.

I tried the MCE application setup for the tv as suggested, but couldn't get it to recognize the av inputs. Any other suggestions?

A really dumb question: Mike K suggested using another media application to access the video inputs...like what?

Thanks!
