If I am not mistaken, the TV Wonder 650 wasn’t available in Canada during the initial launch before the recall. I suppose I could be wrong about that but the early reports after the recall and re-release seem to indicate: Pre-recall: 100-703261 Post-recall: 100-715331 that’s presumably within the US market Theater 650 Pro Discussion Originally Posted by dabl I don’t think ATI ever really addressed what they were doing with the recalled cards. For all we know, many of the 100-703261 cards in the Canadian market are recalled cards from the US market. Since ATI gave us no way to make such identification its an open question. | ati screwing up again... I am having a problem getting new ati drivers installed on my puter with my new tv wonder 200 install on my puter. so ati gives me this link and tells me to uninstall, then reinstall, only 1 problem,look...(step 2) ====================================================== Removing Old ATI Software 1.Click on Start, then Control Panel, then go to Add/Remove Programs. 2.At the top of the list you should see several ATI entries. Select the entry entitled (((ATI Software Uninstall Utility))), and click Change/Remove. 3.You will be prompted to restart your system once the uninstall is complete. 4.Once restarted, check the Add/Remove Programs list again for any remaining ATI software. 5.If any ATI software is still listed, click Change/Remove on those entries to uninstall each one individually. 6.Next, please scroll through the list until you find an entry called DAO (see screenshot below). 7.Select DAO, then Click Change/Remove to uninstall this program ================================================= notice step 2 Select the entry entitled (((ATI Software Uninstall Utility))), and click Change/Remove. ok now with no uninstall utility HOW ARE YOU GOING TO UNINSTALL ANYTHING =P ???????????????? ======================================================= so anyways i reinstalled to get the uninstall and uninstalled everything but CATALYST MEDIA CENTER DVD AUTHORING MODULE (i get severe error "This software may only be installed with non-trial PowerCinema setup will abort") i have had alot of problems with ati in the past, having to install old drivers cause new drivers etc etc etc...i may be done with ati.... | Have you tried using Driver Cleaner Pro? Also, you can download the ATI Un-Install Utility. I've seen them somewhere. AMD Phenom 9850BE - OCZ Plat. Bugs have been piling up on top of bugs and they've done nothing to fix it. To be fair lots of tech companies are in the same boat. Buggy unmanageable software that no one wants to revisit after they're SORT OF done. But ATI I think is one of the special cases. Anyway This link has the ATI uninstaller file. http://support.ati.com/ics/support/d...uestionID=1447 Have a good one! Jonas |

| The "Catalyst Media Center DVD Authoring Module" is either a component of Cyberlink MakeDVD 2.0 or Cyberlink MakeDVD 2.0 itself. It is not likely a driver and it is not at all likely ATI software but rather ATI licensed software from Cyberlink. Catalyst Media Center uses Cyberlink MakeDVD 2.0 for DVD Authoring / burning. To attempt to uninstall it you could try downloading the Cyberlink MakeDVD 2.0 trial and install it / uninstall it. Cyberlink software such as PowerDVD, PowerCinema and MakeDVD automatically uninstalls any previous installations upon installation of a newer version within the install program. | Anybody know if the ATI Theater 650 Pro is compatible with Windows Media Encoder 9? I need it to be compatible to upstream (aka broadcast) video. I think it needs WMD compatible drivers, does it? Thanks! |

| hi all. Sorry if this question has been asked before. I read up to page 10 and ran out of steam. My question is this. How and where do i get my hands on a tv wonder 650 that takes a PAL signal? There is no computer shop in Europe that sells them. I bought one on ebay but then I remembered the NTSC thing and so canceled the order. Cheers.. |

| New PCIe version of the ATI TV Wonder 650 review here: ATI TV Wonder 650 Combo PCI Express http://www.hothardware.com/articles/...Review/?page=2 Supposedly, so I hear, it has concurrent tuner functionality to make up for the woeful omission of this feature during its first release. This is probably due to the technical problems that the nonconcurring design creates in some software packages and the fact that there are cheaper hybrid tuners with concurrent functionality like the following: AVerTV Combo PCIe (M780) tuner which also supports QAM. It makes sence to revive the TV Wonder 650 design though because comparatively speaking it was an expensive product with quirks and fewer features then some aggressively competing products. ****edit*** And there it is: Originally Posted by Paul_Jastrzebski

| It captures in whatever format the original content is in. 4:3 SD is captured 4:3. ALL OTA material is 16:9, even if it is really only a 4:3 picture. The broadcaster adds the pillarbox bars to make a standard 16:9 ratio. I don't believe there is any control to do anything else. You can sometimes set compression rates for SD shows, but aspect control is "as-is". |

| Re: Theater 650 Pro Discussion Hello, I have been trying to find a video calibration setting somewhere. I notice when i have an external source hooked to my 650 (doesn't change if its s-vid or composite) that i have a 1/4" black bar on the right hand side of the screen? Its not there when i watch any of the over-the-air channels. I am running XP with the ATI X1300 with Catalyst Media Center. Also the slight lag is very annoying....I had used an AIW8500 before and had 0 lag. Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance! |
