Question Noob needs some direction

Hi I'm posting a probably retarded question for a friend of mine. He just bought a TV wonder Elite and installed that along with the PowerCinema ATI edition software. What he would like to know is how to you change the save local for when you record TV shows and such. We went into Videos/Recorded Videos and seen the save location and clicked on the arrow next to it but it doesn't allow you to change anything. Is there something we missed I've done a quick search and referred to the help file in the program but nothing is clear.

Also a side note question is using this card in MCE how do you change the record quality settings?

Thanks for any response

There is a PowerCinema Free Upgrade here:

http://www.cyberlink.com/cinema/ati/3/free-upgrade.jsp

Not really sure if it is applicable to your version but some of the features include:

Supports scheduled recording from GuidePlus+.
Supports auto launch in order to record a program, as long as the user is logged in.
Supports adding favorite stations for weak FM signals
Supports setting the location for recorded TV files.
Supports deleting radio recordings from PowerCinema
Supports Spanish language.
As for the side note question, in MCE 2K5 go to settings > TV > Recorder > Recorder Storage. Then go to Recording Quality: and select from the predefined settings “best, better, good and fair.

Sorry,…

I have a Sapphire Theatrix Theater 550 Pro that came with the Sapphire version of PowerCinema3, a Visiontek Xtasy Theater 550 Pro MCE version which came with BeyondTV3 SE + Beyond-Media and I just bought a Powercolor Theater 550 Pro PCIe version (for $44.99 after rebate) that probably came with PowerCinema4 (don’t know because I haven’t had the time to install the card much less open the box).

The Sapphire version of PowerCinema3 is not eligible for the free upgrade I linked to above. In fact, only the ATI version of PowerCinema3 is eligible as far as I know and a software check is made by the install routine to enforce that only the ATI version is upgraded. There are work-arounds and hacks to force the install but I really don’t think its worth it,…

I played with PowerCinema3 for a bit but that was only to see what everyone was complaining about so I am not really that knowledgeable about it.

Basically I only use Media Center Edition 2005 (three licenses) and now Vista MCE in the RC1 release. However, before I fully standardized on MCE I tried GB-PVR and MediaPortal which are IMO great FREE PVR applications that vastly outclass and outperform PowerCinema3 / PowerCinema4.

Also Yahoo bought ”Meedio" then put out a free app that uses the tech and supports the Theater 550 Pro, its called “Go TV”:

Anyway, good luck!
