Ati Tv Wonder Elite - Tuner Input Picture Quality

Hi All.

Just got myself an ATI Tv Wonder Elite. Installed fine. Used latest drivers from ATI. Running GBPVR. My MB is an ASUS P5GDV-V, 3.2G P4, 1G DDR, with a XFX 256MB NVidia GeForce 6600

My question: Are the ATI cards very picky about the cable signal quality on the Tv Input?

I hooked up my cable to the Tv Tuner input and the picture quality is very bad - unwatchable, especially on the lower channels. On the higher channels things look better, but still not that great.

I then connected the same cable feed to my VCR and connected the VCR to the composite input on the card and there is a remarkable difference - All channels are look pretty good.

Am I missing something?.

Thanks!

If you have cable and your channels 3-5 are fuzzy, lines, distorted, choppy, cutting in and out means you have a signal strength issue. This can be caused by crappy amplifiers outside of your home, or too many splitters and devices on a single cable. This has happened to me in the past.

I would go out and get a signal amplifier for the lines on your house. Run that before it runs into your card and that should fix up the issues.
