CLCapSvc.exe errors with TV Wonder 650

After installing my ATI TV Wonder 650 I am getting CLCapSvc.exe errors "CLCapSVC Module has encountered a problem and needs to close"

ATI Tech Support says they are aware of it but no fix!!!

Anyone have any suggestions (other that the obvious trash ATI crap)?

Thanks,

Peace

Well I have no real solutions but I have heard of it and know of the issue.

The file “CLCapSvc.exe“

Sounds like it refers to the following:

CL = Cyberlink
Cap = capture
Svc = service

Assuming that “Catalyst Media Center 1.0” is Cyberlink PowerCinema 4 it would seem to be a service run by said program.

You can try stopping the service and restarting the application to see if that fixes anything but it probably wont.

You can try finding the files for the service and deleting them and then reinstalling the CMC program but that probably wont help either.

If I one were to guess one would think that there is a program driver or the like that simply doesn’t react well with this service,….since not everyone with a 650 or 200 tuner has this problem with CMC.

Finally, try another application. This error doesn’t seem to have been caused by the drivers for the card so it should be functional without the CMC application.

It works in Vista Ultimate 32

I have the TV Wonder working on the same computer using Vista Ultimate 32 (Dual boot with XPP SP2) with no issues other than it won't complete the setup without an IR Remote. Unfortunately I don't have one. I have the RW and the RW2 which don't seem to work in vista. Alas, I had to order a new IR RW.

I have tried the CyberLink Power Cinema 5 trial version which works ok.

ATI certainly makes things a challenge. lol

Peace

Oops, sorry...You already stated that ATI knew about the problem.
Just disregard this
