TV Wonder 650 ~ HD Component Input (Help)
Hi,
Is there a component block available for the 650 (for component cables) and does it accept 480p or higher progressive high definition input? I mean, how would I connect component video/audio cables? The default purple block only takes S-Video/Composite and I don't see anything to help on ati website. http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2693358 (what I need, but not 8-pin solo input) http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2538007 (what I use now) Thanks |

The TV Wonder 650 doesn’t work that way.
There are no component inputs, its either S-Video/Composite or OTA. |

HD input is OTA only for the TV Wonder 650.
There aren’t really any HDMI input cards. Actually there are but I don’t think that you can use them in the way you intend to. There are a few possible ways to hack HD input into a MCE 2K5 and Vista MCE systems (using FireSTB and firewire or QAM with the HDHomerun) but basically these are hacks. The industry doesn’t really want us to be able to do this. |

I see. What I was trying to do is to upgrade to component capture for the few PS2 games that are progressive can. I make console game-play videos and use S-Video as the input. You are saying HDMI input cards wouldn't work for that? I bet they cost a lot too.
Was thinking if I found a coaxial output cable for the PS2, I could use it in the TV Wonder 650's (FM Radio and Digital TV antenna coaxial connection) baseplate for input. Not sure if that would work though. (would be 480i I think) Could you go into more detail about hacked HD input? Sounds interesting and maybe something I could try in the future. |
