master and commander/freaky friday review
right, was bored thisevening so went to see these two at me local ugc (gotta love subscription cinema).
firstly freaky friday - was a bit of a lighthearted flick this - almost a chick flick, but without romance as the main story if you see what i mean - i think chicks would like it. isnt very long, but is pretty funny in parts, and the lass in it (dunno her name) is pretty tastey. probably worth a watch, and the kinda thing it'd be ok to go with anyone too (mates, parents, children, partners etc). 7/10 - funny, if unorigional secondly master and commander. now i wasnt really looking forwards to this but it was the only other thing on that i hadnt seen. nearly 3 hours long it is a traditional epic seafaring jobby about some boat that goes after some other boat. there were sad moments at times, some pretty 'ikky' moments - nothign graphic but lots implied. i recon some might shed a tear in this film (im not one to cry in movies myself, but the sad moments were propper sad). The thing that supprised me was that i was kept entertained the whole way thru by the film. unlike lotr, which this film is nearly as long as, i wasnt finding myself looking at my watch - the storyline twisted and turned enough to keep the viewers entertained. 8/10 - worth seeing even if you dont think its gonna be your kinda thing

I agree about Master and Commander. It was a pretty good film even though I don't usually watch films of the sort.
It was a bit slow to start off with, and due to the fact that my local cinema has the most horrible seats known to any cinema in the world, I was terribly uncomfortable for the first hour or so. But when things started to pick up, the uncomfortable-ness was less noticeable
