    What DVD player?

My old dvd player has given up the ghost so i am looking for a replacement.

Ideally, it needs to be multi region (or unloackable via code) because i have a few region 1 and 3 dvds in my collection. HDMI would be nice as my component inputs are taken up by my xbox 360. I want it to upscale my dvd's to 720p so they will look good on my tv (samsung 32" HDTV) I was thinking of something like this from play

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...archtype=genre I would buy this but i cant find a way to make it multiregion

Can anyone reccomend me a decent upscaling player for around £60

Sorry for not being able to be terribly helpful, but I dunno if you'll really get something that upscales any better than your TV (if a fairly recent set) for £60 Also, is it a native x768 set ?

    AVforums ?

The Toshiba would get my vote for not much more than the Mi220 and have the proven performance and brand quality also (and free P&P).

See if your local Sainsbury's has any Philips DVP-5960's about. Depending if you can get one, you will pay about £40-50. Bloody nice player.

I have been looking at those as well. There are stacks of them on Ebay. I thought there might be something up with them as there are so many for sale.

Should do, if it's fairly recent and HD ready

And if it's a x768 panel it'll may be better doing it, unless you can find an upscaling DVD that does x768. Saves a scaling step.

Some Samsung sets have Faroudja upscaling which is as good as you'll get without spending a lot more cash on a DVD player (Arcam, Denon).
