Always remember with a DVD disk....

.....to just check to see if its 2 sided

Cos I have owned an Aerosmith DVD for a while, and while I love it, its a bit short on actual music, but has loads of cool interviews, live play, studio work....

and it ALSO has a second side

Which is what I always hoped for........

And I also have a 4:3 ratio film, which, it turns out, has a 16:9 side too.....

No matter what you know, or how long you've lived.....you can STILL make a numpty outta yourself

LOL! When i used to work for Currys when DVDs were first released (more or less) we got people bringing back armageddon disks cause they complained it only had half a movie on it. Then we explained you needed to turn the disk over LOL!

This was in the days before dual layer disks (DVD9 and 10) were invented though, or commercially viable at least.

I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!

"The Usual Suspects : Special Edition" - got this very cool film and sat down to watch it, found all the extras no problem, but when I selected the "Play Movie" option it said "insert disc 1"... and there is only 1 disc, so I assumed I'd been given a duff one (missing a DVD).

Turns out, of course, that "disc 1" means SIDE 1.
I think I invented a few swear words when I found that out

Backup your current version onto DVD-R? Just take out all the extras and have just AC3 english and the movie should squeeze it onto one disk.

The Shawshank Redemption I've got is on a 2 sided disc, I'd never bought one before that.

What I've not bothered to figure out is whether when it says 'side 1' then the info for side 1 is on that side, or that the label saying 'side 1' should be facing up...

I just pop it in and hope for the best.
    Not got it wrong yet

/edit - when the side saying "aspect ratio 16:9, playing time 137 minutes" is put in [b]face up[b/] the it is the film in 16:9, and some extras.

The other side has the film in 4:3 and some other extras...

    huh.
