    SKY+ reception

    Morning all

I have SKY+ plugged into a Samsung LE32R74BDX. It is connected using the standard scart that is supplied with the SKY box. Although I was thinking, could I get any better quality by investing in better cabling? If so what one and how much?

    Thanks

u could always spend cash on decent cables but your problem is that most HD tv's do a poor job with SD. Since the sky+ boxes do not offer component or HDMI out ur options are limited to going for Sky HD or looking for an aftermarket upscaler, both will involve shelling out

I noticed some improvement when i switched to a gold scart for sky+. Decent cables are definitely worthwhile for analogue connections, and you shouldn't need to spend too much, i think mine were hitachi ones from argos for about a tenner.

You can go more upmarket to the likes of IXOS and QED but it depends how much you want to spend and how long the cable run is.

Also make sure your sky+ box is set to output RGB and not PAL, this makes a huge difference.
