    Sky

Well I've gone and ordered it, not moving into my place until saturday tho.

They reckon they will install the Sky without a phone line - I won't be getting that until the 11th June.

Have I been duped into paying for the Sky earlier than I should have?

We are getting rid of Sky when our 12 months is up, we only ever watch Sky one and the kids channels. Hardly worth £20 per month (We get Disney Cinemagic hence the £20).

Noticed the new BT Vision service so are going for that. You can get all the channels and on demand kids and music for £14 per month. It also has a Hard Disc for recording programs. Not forgetting the archive which has loads of films and other TV in there which is included in the on demand for £14 per month. Really good package all round must admit. We have the homehub already and I will set it up myself when we order it instead of paying for installation and setup.

I only want it for the sport, I've spent too much in the pub watching the football once or twice or week this last year at uni, but the next year I'm away from uni doing a placement, and the 16Mbps ADSL seems worth the £10 extra.

Just got Sky mainly for kids but love the history/discovery as well as comedy for £18 p/mth as well as off peak calls free!

Thinking of Sky+ but understand you need a card from sky as well as paying £60 to run second feed and install quad LNB. I could obtain LNB myself but wonder if getting the local firm to run this feed and possibly second feed and get the free to air channels card for £20 would be cheaper and if Sky would still want their £60 anyway (got a sky+ box already and repaired it)?

they won't install sky+ without a phone line and the policy was at one point no-phone line no sky.

    It is Inevitable.....

The phone line is only mandatory during the initial 12month contract - they hope you will buy films etc.
