Better than the Samsungs? I don't think so really. My housemate had a Samsung, and it was brilliant in HD and in SD, no problems at all.
The Samsungs are really well designed too, they look smart even when they're off! I'd go with the Samsung and know you're probably not able to do much better.

Depends which Samsung really, as with any brand there's good and bad sets. Some people detest the picture processing on a few models for example. Some of the SOny models have similar panels with different processing that a lot of people prefer. Sharp also have some good ones too, and there's many more.
Head on over to AVForums and you'll get some good advice as there'll be hundreds of folk in a similar boat. Only thing I would say though is that if you're planning to keep it for a few years and don't mind the expense, you'll get better value in a 32" set. Not much more cash but a noticeably bigger screen, and higher sales of 32" leads to more competitive deals. We were looking for a 26" recently and ended up with a 32"

Ah right, bugger !
Well I think Panasonic LCD's are always worth a look too, in addition to Samsung and Sony. Have a look at the selection on Play, they're normally pretty cheap and they stock the majority of the popular models. |
