My word - for that price I could have someone come around and recable every time I want to watch something different! Surely that can't be the cheapest way of doing this?

indeed!
remeber component video can still pull 1080p! But second the onkyo recomendation, i'm very tempted to ditch my ax2 for one of those (which only has 2 hdmi inputs, and i think at the time was about the cheapest you could get with HDMI at all, when i part with that soon, looking at flebay i'll get £450, on that bomb shell i think its still the cheapest you can get!) Decent recivers are expensive, and adding HDMI too the mix will only up the price, do you really need it?
