Transferring Video footage from Video 8 Handycam to PC

    As the Title suggests really,

My Brother and his wife have a lot of footage on their Sony Handycam, and want to transfer it onto PC to either store on DVD or edit and stuff.
I don't have the foggiest about the best way to do this and what hardware/cables are needed to transfer the video its a Sony CCD-TR333E if this helps.
I have a geforce 5700 ultra but its not vivo I don't think so I'm guessing a breakout box of some type is needed.

Any help with this would be much appreciated, had a look on google but was a bit overwhelmed as am a total n00b with vid stuff.

    Si

All I get from a search for Sony CCD-TR333E is batteries. Are you sure of the model number?

You just need a video capture card. If you graphics card doesn't offer that, the cheapest way is to get a TV tuner card which has composite / s-video inputs. You instlal the drivers then use a program like virtualdub or any other to record. Then depending on what you want to do with it, use a video editor, etc.

    Take a look here: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/capture/start.html
