Top #10 films of all time?
Me being an AVID film buff, can't resist this one
Probably been done loads before, probably a sticky I've missed or something - Lol. But its late, so what the hell ![]() Right, its hard for me to define a true number one, so I'll write up 10 of my favourites and decide later. #1 Terminator 2: Judgement Day #8 Shawshank Redemption #9 Reservoir Dogs #10 Pulp Fiction #2 Once Upon a Time in the West #3 Fight Club #6 The Deer Hunter #4 Apocalypse Now #7 The Terminator #5 Casino thats probably about right, all are damn good... DAMN good. Last edited by MuTTy_Hc; 10-01-2004 at 01:20 AM. |

5 would be far easier than 10, I can't guarantee the order is 100% accurate but here's a list of my top ten films. Also decided to gorup up franchises
1) Return of the King (well the whole LOTR Trilogy tbh) 2) Saving Private Ryan and Band Of Brothers 3) Star Wars (episodes 4-6) 4) The Longest Day 5) Gladiator 6) Pulp Fiction 7) Dark Blue World 8) Indina Jones (All apart from Temple of Doom) 9) Pirates of the Caribbean 10) A Bridge too Far

I never read the book so thats probably why I enjoyed the film alot more.
The setting and everything on it I found to be really interesting, I believe its based on a true story and events. Its well worth watching regardless if you havn't seen it. |

based on a true story, is kinda true if by that you mean the author "borrowed" large sections from stories of POWs like the great escape. It is a mishmash of so many other stories cobbled togther, the book pulled it off but imo the film failed to do it.

In no particular order;
Goodfellas Taxi Driver Ghostbusters (Bill Murray rocks) Indiana Jones trilogy, I concur on the 2nd one being a bit pish American Psycho The Great Escape Trading Places or maybe the Golden Child Empire of the Sun The Prodigal Son Aliens Others that I really like; Grosse Pointe Blank Rocketeer The Bonfire Of The Vanities Les Visiteurs, Jean Reno in a really wacky French comedy Leon Ronin Dragnet The Man Who Would be King Zulu One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing Office Space Akira (second Anime I ever saw) Casino Dumb teen/mindless comedies such as American Pie, RoadTrip, Van Wilder etc. Nice mindless fun National Lampoons Christmas Vacation! I'd say those top 10 are my top 10, but I watched all of the above over Christmas and they brought back so many childhood memories. Well, the older ones anyway.
