Would appreciate suggestions/explanation on media streaming to TV
Dear Hexus,
I've spent the last few hours trawling the net trying to find information regarding media streaming for your TV. Would REALLY appreciate some assistance! My aim is to: Use several HD NAS enclosures to hold several high capacity hard drives connect each to my home wired network then use a media box on the TV to access all of the content - music, movies (legally ripped) and photos. But i'm very, very confused! Is there a box that could do this? connect to your tv, and your network (several networked hard drives, such as the cheapy Saverstore one), and access and play content through your remote? Thank you! |

Well - MyMovies.name was the best Media Centre Plugin ever made - you would have to have an MCE box and then you can do everything you want....

Well you could use a xbox 360 as long as you are willing to encode video in a format it can handle. Then using a twonkymedia enabled enclosure that could be done. Just a little left of field. You could probably do the same with a PS3.
Another option would be not to use NAS enclosures and get a PC up and running. One with lots of HDD's and vista would be good, especially with tv tuners. You could then use an Xbox 360 as a media extender. They have other extenders in the US but there are no others here yet. Just a suggestion! |
