Panasonic TX-32LXD-700 Audio Input on PC mode

I've connected a mac mini to this machine using the PC input option.

I don't believe there is a way to use the audio input sockets on this TV while in PC mode (happy to be proved wrong).

I'd appriciate some suggestions on a usable audio setup for this situation.

eg: some SMALL speakers, that can be powered from a kettle lead through put into the TV - I don't want bass bins or anything like that as I'm trying to not waste space.

Or prove me wrong and suggest how to put the mac through the audio on the TV.

    It is Inevitable.....

Can tell you it can be done (or certainly usually can with Panny TV's), can't tell you how to do it Sorry !

With some TV's you need to assign the audio-in sockets to a Video input, with others you just plug it in and it outputs whatevers connected.

I'm presuming you've already had it hooked up with no joy ?

ikonia, do you have the manual? if so, its on page 44.

you'll need to get your hands on a 3.5mm - Phono connector:

I've got my HTPC connected using that exact lead above to my LCD and it works a treat. Its just a 3.5mm jack to phono lead.

Just head down to Maplin and you're sorted.

I've got the manual, and thats the lead I'm using. However the inputs only appear to become active on a certain AVI input.

However it looks like I may have been miss-reading the input diagram or have a slightly out of date manual, as the picture Steve B posted (thanks) is slightly different to one I have inthat the diagram doesn't actually have any devices on such as camcorder or a laptop.

That diagram seems to suggest putting the cable into the "audio in" under the component "in" sockets. Rather than the "audio in" on the side/back resses of the TV.

    I'll give that a go.

    Thanks.

You shouldnt be connecting the lead above to the component sockets. There should be 2 other red/white rca sockets on the TV for the sound.

These are specifically for PC audio on my LCD i.e. they only work when I have the vga selected as the source, I think.

I'm not conecting anything to the component sockets. I'm following the document shown by steve B which is the audio in sockets UNDER the component in sockets.

Actually got around to trying this at the weekend.

Worked really well. The audio in under the component sockets are actually for use with the PC input as suggested above.

Looks like a slightly older version of the manual was a little unclear and the one printed above makes it crystal.

Thanks for the help. Works well.
