No Mosters Inc. on Blu-ray yet?

That is just stupid. I want to show off a Blu-Ray / HD-DVD player but I can't find any really good films that would stand out. Monsters Inc. Would look fantastic from a HD player but its not out!

    Any really good looking films?

I thought that as well as I have seen it in HD displays, BBC HD had it on not long ago but I can't find it anywhere, HMV say they can't find it on their lists and its not on Play.com

If it is used on HD screens to show them off, then it just goes to show how good regular SD DVD can be

Re: No Mosters Inc. on Blu-ray yet?

It was broadcast on BBC-HD about a year ago, but there is no official HD release as yet.

Cars looks great, as do the POTC films, Eastern Promises, Zodiac, Hot Fuzz, Rescue Dawn, 3:10 To Yuma to name a few.

Does it have to be a Blu-ray you need?

There's plenty of other movies out that look good, although Monsters Inc would probably be great.

Cars is indeed impressive, and Open Season looks great too, though the content maybe leaves a little to be desired. Away from animation, Black Hawk Down is a winner, and Stealth (though an utter turd of a film) has an Introduction to Blu-Ray segment which is fantastic. Maybe rent it when you have mates coming round ?

I think the fact that that it's used is more down to the fact that it was one of the SD DVD's of choice, and with such few places streaming HD to their TV's they continue with it. It doesn't actually look that impressive close up, sadly.

A few places clued up places (usually hi-fi stores and the like) actually have a feed from a Sky HD box, with Monsters Inc HD stored on the box.

    Nah, not even any rumours!

Cars is still my demo disc of choice, but Ratatouille is very good too

nope. i used blueraysearch.com to see if any of the stores had it yet...nope. you can give amazon.com and play.com your email address, and they will let you know when you can place an order for it. but they don't appear to be giving a date yet...

I got this yesterday and it was well worth the wait! The picture is top class and the sound it one of the best I have come across.

I was in HMV on friday and noticed this out. they wanted 30 quid though which seemed a bit excessive.

I got it for £17 from Asda and I thought that was a bit expensive!
