| HDD PVR and Controlling one over the internet I maybe living abroad again for a bit and while I am there I want to be able to watch brit TV. Now I have heard of slingbox but it doesnt do exactly what I want (so I've been told), which is to be able to transfer the saved files rather than just streaming them. Ideally I would like a PVR which has twin free view tuners, can play Xvid/DivX files, can be controlled over the internet i.e set to record via the EPG, saved file access, WiFi/ethernet connection. Does such a box exist ? Dedham dedham |

| Re: HDD PVR and Controlling one over the internet Don't know if it's any use but Sony used to make a "location free" device that I think did exactly that - allowed you to watch your home TV from anywhere via the Internet, although I don't think it had PVR capabilities. | Re: HDD PVR and Controlling one over the internet Thanks for the replies, From not being able to find much like that on the internet I had a feeling that it would be a self build thing. As I wont be here to look after it though I want to stay away from a PC version. An all in one would be nice but I could live with a PVR and a slingbox type thing which allows file transfers. I have seen wifi/ethernet enabled PVRs but I am unsure on exactly what you can do with them. Dedham dedham |
