Laser TVs - the future?
I literally only heard of these last week. Are they the new, better than the new OLED TVs coming out? Anyone had any experience with this? The new Mitsubishi Laser telly look awesome though.

Re: Laser TVs - the future?
I don't think anyone knows.
Laser TV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia looks good in theory, but no-one has really seen production units. And there is a lot of mis-information surrounding it too. First seen at CES and being released in 2008? I'll believe it when I see it. |

Re: Laser TVs - the future?
laser tv's are most likely the future its similar to the advance of say, crt---->lcd but on a smaller scale ofc. They will be more expensive then lcd's no doubt about that and it will take sometime to reduce the price of this due to the demand will be low simply because it was with hd-tv lcd screens, its only just picked up really and is nearing saturation(in my opinion) and so not many people will want to upgrade again after such a short time.

Re: Laser TVs - the future?
I think, sadly, a lot may depend on how big it's booty is
At least in Europe anyway. If the production ones aren't wall mountable, they'll struggle here. The US, their big rooms, with all their horrific AV cabinets, will still buy them though. Sony's recent deep colour LCOS rear-pro prototype sets looked fantastic, but were shelved because they were a whole 10 inches or so deep. Shame. I hope they do come out, and do well, as they should be decently priced by the time my Sony rear-pro breathes it's last ! |
