TH50PZ700 and Logitech harmony 525

Well, I just bought a 525 and I was hoping the setup would be a breeze. Sadly this has not been the case and after an hour and a half I still can't get it to switch the TV on out of standby. I have tried everything, ran through just about (i say that because there are many and I have not given up yet) every troubleshooter and i have used the learn funtion but I still cannot get it to switch on. I think the problem lies with the fact that o switch the TV on I have to press the power button in for 2 seconds before anythign happens and the remote won't learn it if I hold it in very lon. I can't find away to make it beam out the same command over and over. I am a bit gutted that the brand new TV isn't supported yet my 10 year old stereo amp is. any suggestions?

should say, the model number reffers to a pasnasonic TV.

well, I finally cracked the power on issue, now I just need to sort the inputs out as for some reaosn the panny does not want to remember that it was on AV before standby. I tried setting the default picture setting to AV on the TV, and it says it right there 'default input AV' but for some reason it still starts up on TV (as in the RF input, even thought I have nothing going into it and no channels tuned).

All you need to do there is, in the Harmony macro for start-up, add in a 'switch to AV' after 'power on' (with the appropriate delay to let the TV get to a state where it's ready to accept another command).

Well, it does that, its just that for some reaqson it does one pres of the AV switch too many and sticks it into AV3 instead of AV2 so I have to cycle throught to AV2.

Also just noticed, its not playing with the sky box at all. I didn't even test that as I assumed it was standard (given all the remotes work on all the different boxes) and would work straight off. No such luck, over 2 hours on this so far..

oh and for some reason my DVD player will not work with it all eiether, its a cheapie one but was in the list when I added the device and I tried making it learn all the commands and it still won't have it.

i can see this will be a sweet remote when it works properly but this setup is more of a headache than I could have imagines. not helped by the fact it takes a good few minutes to update the remote each time I change something, even if its a small change.

Oh well, Sky is fixed now, I started making it learn the remote and it came up with 'a better set of commands is available. Applied that and it now works, still a little tweaking needed tho.

Right, resolved everything now.

Except for this input thing, I think i might need to add another activity for switching the TV on when its off and another for when its on. not ideal
