    Recording via Sky

Using a Sky dish, can I record one channel whilst watching another with anything other than a Sky+ box? If so, any recommendations? Will a Hummy do the job?

    yes and no

you cannot access encrypted sky-only channels without use of a sky-branded set top box, as per the terms of your contract

but if you're accessing unencrypted channels, then many boxes will do the job - you need to be sure that your LNB has as many outputs as you want to access channels (e.g. a quad-out for 4 simultaneous channels)
