Playing unfinalised -RW disks

My recently deceased LG (a tragic mistake!) dvd recorder formatted -RWs in VR mode automatically. The handbook said unnecessary to finalise, but I now find I can't find a stand-alone player which will handle them. Has anyone any suggestions?
