    Talking One week till Metallica...

    20th August...

    Dublin RDS...

    METALLICA LIVE!

I cannot wait. Get my GCSE results the day before and then Metallica are gonna kick some serious ass. Got the tickets in like February and now I only have a week to wait.

Double headliner event with Linkin Park but there is only one reason to be there. Also heard that The Darkness are backing up and that is great in itself. Brilliant band with lots to come from them in the future I think.

First concert ever for me so I really can't say I know what to expect. I saw them play Rock AM Ring on MTV live and that in itself was something else - being there should amplify the experience beyond what I can imagine!

Anyone got any gig tips / dos and don'ts / stories to tell?

i get to see metallica next sunday night! reading festival - bring it on ! i'd make sure your shoes are tied on damn tight if your planning on crown surfing, as losing them can be rather annoying.....also, be careful if you buy anything from the traders outside, they do love to rip off kids i.e. take their money for stuff, then never hand over the goods and say you never paid - it happened to a mate of mine, and we ended up having to distract the trader A-hole while my mate took what he payed for (and a few more, just for good measure....). above all, just have fun and enjoy it! your first concert is a great feeling, even though you'll most likely leave with your ears ringing enjoy mate

Nah. only kidding. But how good was that concert? If they do a gig half as good as that this year I'd be amazed. Im not going but then again I dont really mind because apparently the playlist will consist mainly of St. Anger tracks and imo I think that album Suxors

Okey Dokey, wallet where no one should be going...

    Gotcha!

Is a backpack a good idea? Worth getting a mini lock for the 2 zips?

Expect at least three days of deafness. Not from the extremely xhardxcorex sound speakers... but from the hundreds upon hundreds of Linkin Park hoody-wearing, screaming for absolutely no reason, girls.

Same thing happened when I went to watch the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster supporting Placebo a few months back.. all there with their feather boas. Thinking they look different, but they all look the same. Really is wierd.

haha, yeh. screaming girls really do get annoying. i was stuck in front of a group of them in the pit at The Used gig in Wolvo, and i wanted to kill them after 5 mins, they just screamed every time something or someone moved on stage. ah well, it was amusing forcing them into the fight pit not long till Reading now as well . Rogue - i wouldn't recommend takin a backpack as you'll end up carrying all your mates crap around all night for them.

I thought the reply to the thread title would be...
