| PanasonicTX-26LXD8 OR Samsung LE26A457C1DXXU - 26" TV for Bedroom I want to get a new TV for my bedroom, 26" is the largest I can feasibly get away with. The two in the thread title seem to be the top of my list at the moment, with a heavy leaning towards the Samsung. Can anyone comment on either of these models, or a similar model for under £350? It must be wall mountable, but I don't think that's rules too much out. Also, how could I connect a laptop which only has a VGA connector to the Samsung? (as that looks like quite a likely prospect at present) Panasonic: http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-8665.aspx Samsung: http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/stor...ence%20Revenue (not sure if that stupid link will work) if not bash in this: Product code: 557737 at dixons.co.uk |

| Re: PanasonicTX-26LXD8 OR Samsung LE26A457C1DXXU - 26" TV for Bedroom A relative has the 32" version of the Panny and it seems excellent. I can only vouch for the SD picture but it really did seem much better than any other LCD i've seen (Which is not alot admittedly). Build quality wise the Panny is great too. Can't say i know anything of that Samsung, only thing i will say is my Samsung LCD i have in my bedroom has served me well for the 2 years i've had it. | Re: PanasonicTX-26LXD8 OR Samsung LE26A457C1DXXU - 26" TV for Bedroom Having sold them both side by side I would say the panasonic edges it for colour definition and has a great quality in-built freeview tuner, although the Samsung is much nicer to use and has a better freeview guide. For the price difference I would probably stick with the Samsung myself for a TV of this size as we retail it for £329 and the Pany is £399. The only other benefits of the Pany are that they are the only manufacturer of Tvs of this size to have a PROPER on/off button and also the SD card slot can be handy if you take lots of digital photos and want to view them back easily without a PC. Both TVs have VGA connection so attaching a laptop shouldnt be a problem. Ben |
