    Samsung HTZ310

    Hello fellas.

I need help to connect the following 47" LG LCD, PS3, Direct TV HD receiver and Samsung HTZ310.

The TV is connected to PS3 using HDMI, so is Direct TV receiver and Samsung surround sound.

My question is..how do I get 5.1 surround for the PS3 and watching direct TV. Those are my only two issues.

P.S. I just bought a Digital optic cable.

Well you need to connect everything to the TV via HDMI,

Then you need an digital-optical cable (a.k.a. TOSLink) to plug into the back of your TV and into the back of the 310 receiver.

If you then put your receiver onto "Digital" auxillary which my Samsung 710 defaults to everything that is plugged into the TV should then come out in surround sound.

It should be very straight forward.

Exactly as Bunjiweb describes - will pass the 5.1 coming from the PS3 straight over to the HTZ310 and give you 5.1.
