    Amiblight technology

Hi guys is there anyway to get this without a Philips tv? Or something quite similar? I'd like it for behind my Sony Bravia in my room.

Just curious to know if anything has come out from another company mimicking the same effects?

    Many thanks

    Mark

If you have an old first gen xbox you can do this.

If you don't there are ways to get it working with a PC - http://www.ambilight4pc.com/ - is one website.

Lots of Youtube vids of the xbox methods

Ambilight is however a horrendous gimmick that really only works in a pitch black room, and even then I think doesn't really add anything to the viewing experience.

The only screen which makes use of ambilight at all well is the Philips Auora screens which are rather expensive and the actual picture quality is average at best.
