    New Sky Card

Those of you with Sky may have noticed the announcements of replacement viewing cards,
has anyone had any problems with theirs?

I got mine tuesday of last week, 2 cards (multiroom)
One worked fine but our main one for the Sky+HD set didn't work..

I attempted to go back to the old card but that didn't work either (I believe it's canceled when the new card is inserted).

So, I get on the phone to Sky and they tell me to put the old card back in and wait 4 hours, so I do.
well over 4 hours later and nothing, back on the phone.. same story, another 6 hours or so and no joy.

Not only that, you have to explain that you know the card goes in the slot marked "Sky Viewing Card"
and you that you know how to turn it on etc.. stupid.

Back to the phone, now I'm told 24 hours, so I wait and again, nothing.
Bit frustrated now, seeing as without a card I can't even view what's been recorded on the box.

Back to the phone, this time I get told 4 hours, I wait and nothing..
On the phone again, 24 hours this time! So I wait despite no optimism at all and ofcourse it doesn't work.

Just been on the phone to them yet again and can you believe it..

They want me to pay £10 for a new card!
Oooohh I so went in to one and demanded to talk to the manager..
They randomly put me on hold without saying a thing and 15 minutes later I was still on hold so hung up.

Redialed, got hold of a manager and eventually got them to send me a new card but whether it comes or not.. no idea.

It's appauling the service I've been getting, I pay for broadband, Sky+HD and multiroom with every single channel and the service is just rubbish.

It's probably the added fact that they talk to you like complete pond life that gets me.
    Anyways, my rant over.

Seen the ads, not had ours yet. To be honest, not really bothered about getting it. We just use Sky as a Freeview + FTA indian channels (parents).

Goy my cards friday, all ok this end altho we dont have SkyHD..

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

They just called me back, told me to put the old card back in and give it another 24 hours, lol.
They're also sending a replacement card now, 3-5 days for delivery.

    Ours went across fine.

Not meaning to sound patronising (but how could i after Sky have treated you) but you sure you put it in the right box.

Got to say though it's pretty poor about the service your getting (after the first 24hrs i would have gone in full guns blazing) espically if you have everything with sky.

There's Forums. And then there's Hexus forums

    Re: New Sky Card

I forgot about updating this, I don't know if anyone is interested but..

While the TV did come back to life, every 60 seconds exactly the "Please put in your new SKY viewing card" message popped up, making it totally unwatchable anyway.

That and we still haven't had the new card.
