| Network|Geek | Is it an Amp I'm after? Right, here is the situation at the mo. I've got my PC hooked up to my Logitech 2.1 speakers, and my Xbox audio goes into the Line In on the PC, and out through those speakers too - so the PC has to be on for me to have Xbox Audio. I also have no way to also connect my wee server to the speakers and run a nice terminal-based media player for music without having to turn on the big PC. I think what I'm after to solve this is an Amplifier with a number of different 3.5mm inputs, and my speakers plugged in to the output - so I can flick between sources as/when required. Does that sound about right? If so, anybody got any recommendations? I know absolutely nothing about this sorta' thing, so I figured I'd get some advice before I plough into looking at hardware myself! I'm gonna have a read over at AVforums too, there might be a useful guide or two over at that part of the Internet. Cheers! | radix lecti | Re: Is it an Amp I'm after? How about something like this? http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-...r+(540C)+(X360) Might require a few 3.5mm to RCA Audio Cables, but would work as the splitter part. Added bonus that you can name the inputs and costs less than a 360 game ![]() Alternatively an Amp or Receiver would work well, but you'd ideally want to match it with a decent set of speakers rather than PC speakers with their own internal amp (there are some exceptions - good quality internally amped studio monitors for example) but generally you'd want the Amp/Receiver to be doing the work. ![]() ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ. |

Any decent 5.1 systems with Wireless rear speakers? "If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much room!" - me, 2005 |
