    Best 32-37" TV for £500?

What would you buy, and why?

It's mainly for SD, upscaled DVD and Blue Ray. Gaming not essential, but might get a PS3 one day.

Pretty confused really, especially over whether or not i need 100Hz.

I'm not 100% sure, but for £500 you are probably looking at one of the new 37" Sony models with the cashback offer they are doing.

I would avoid LG and Samsung, they arent bad, but since you are spending £500 why not get something which is actually worth the money?

    I have this one:
    Panasonic L32X15
Think I paid £550 for it in May with Richer Sounds 5 year guarantee.
I am very happy with it.

I wouldn't buy anything but a Panasonic or Sony - you get what you pay for!

Depending how much you want to part with i would be looking along the lines of these :

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-32RV...pr_product_top

    http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...l?source=9593#

Both feature resolution+, basically it upscales normal SD picture inputs to nearer HD.

If you have a hunt around the net, you might be able to find a Pioneer KRL-32V for not far off that price range, it's discontinued now, but it's got one of the nicest pictures I've ever seen from an LCD TV

Having said that, I've managed to buy my parents one of the shiny new thin Samsung LED backlit 32" screens for £620 delivered. So by the time we get a bit nearer Christmas, you should be spoiled for choice

Panasonic 32G10 should be just about achievable, built in Freesat HD if that is any benefit.

Otherwise I would suggest the Samsung 32b651 - cracking telly if you don't think you can stretch to the LED backlit screens.

BTW I got a Samsung 40" b530 for not far off that, seems to do everything I want quite well - paired with the 360, Sky HD and occasionally my PC.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Thinking of going for this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-TX...7891509&sr=8-1

Not 1080p, but from what i have read it spanks all LCD's in this price area for contrast, black levels, colour, input lag and fast moving action.

Gotta say, not that impressed by some of Panasonic's recent 720p plasmas. Don't get me wrong, they are better than average, but certainly not carrying the same prowess as their 1080p panels seem to.

    How about: http://forums.hexus.net/classifieds-...32-lcd-tv.html

And save some money for something else, or splash out on some lavish speakers (if you don't already have some)

(PS, do i get commission )
