Portable CD/Tape Player Hi, Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but couldnt see anywhere else to. I want to be able to play audio books on holiday - but last year our CD player broke due to the heat. All i want is OK sound, good battery life, and reliability in the heat. I dont want to spend too much more than about £30 - 40 on it. I am quite tempted to just get a tape player as i have never had a problem with them, however then we will probably still want some sort of CD player in the room + I will have to buy it all as tape rather than CD. I would rather a CD player obviously, but dont want it to break when we are away! Any ideas?

Matt, For all sort of cheap stereo/cd equipment http://www.richersounds.co.uk I don't know what section they would lump cd/tape player under but it would be worthwhile you checking out the site to see if you could see anything. TiG -- Hexus Meets Rock! --

I would think some kind of MP3 player would be more suited, just a cheap one with enough memory to store your books. Reason being mp3 = no moving parts unlike tape or cd, so far less to go wrong in the heat! Butuz

Anyone know where i can get a cheap one?? EDIT: hmm, after looking at it I will probably need at least 128MB.. if not 256MB to hold enough - seen as i wont be able to change it at all on holiday. The cheapest 256 i have seen is here: Advanced Mp3 Players May be a great price......still quite a bit though. at the moment i am looking at this: Sony CD player at Amazon The main advantage being that we can take LOADS of music too....
