A surprising benefit of plasma TV's

Living in a tiny 1 bedroomed flat, I've found that the second biggest benefit of getting a plasma TV is how much more room I've got in my living room! My old 28" CRT used to stand about 2 1/2 - 3 feet into the room, and made 1 wall unusable, except for TV and speakers. This plasma hangs on a wall and I've got all my floorspace back!

... and all the money in your bank account gone

i would love a plasma tv, heck i would like a 32" widescreen tv like we've got downstairs, but i'm stuck with my 14" (something appalling anyhow) tv, and there is little point getting a decent one because the reception is pretty crap - and i wouldnt be able to get a freeview box either ).

ah well, enjoy it, hope you've got some decent speakers so you can enjoy a full cinema experience in your bedroom

i dont think its in his bedreoom...

its not all that surprising, if anyone manuf'd a 42" crt tube it'd be massive front-> back, too big to get thru doors thus useless. hence why rp/plasma rules..

incidentally, im thinkin hard about mounting a lcd tv above me bed to watch telly whilst dozing off. whatcha think?

So you live in a tiny, one bedroomed flat.... and bought a plasma? That seems sensible.

Well - there is only one of him in his 1 bedroom flat - a plasma is probably gonna be more use to him there than having a 6 bedroom mansion and a 14" black and white TV. no?

    round here - cost of a 1 bedroom flat = ~ £120k
    cost of a 2 bedroom place = ~ £180k

so the price differecne is considerably more than a bloomin plasma, however big..

    Rofl!

I realise that plasmas do not cost tens of thousands, but im guessing it is likeley that if KBeee spent the extra money on a 2 bed flat as opposed to a 1 he may not be able to afford the plasma at all and thus may end up stuck with a 14" b&w tv - that was my point you seem to have missed it entireley.

And here the cost of a 1 bedroom flat is now £200,000, 2 bedroom £250,000 (minimum prices)
It's scary how you can think you're hard-working, and frugal, but can only afford to buy a place is if a) You're in the Meeja, or 2) A drug dealer

    BAD THINGS ABOUT PLASMA TV'S
The way they are set up in the shop - I guess it looks impressive when the colours are "vibrant", but I had to set the saturation from 50% to 15%, the contrast from 50% to 24% etc. before it was even remotely viewable
Also Japanese girlfriends get scared of the big picture!?!?!
(Showing her too much US pr0n I guess)
    Hehehehe
