The Day After Tomorrow
Just saw it today
Anyone else seen it and what do you think? I was actually impressed. It was remarkably good although a bit unrealistic. Slowed down a bit toward the end but most of it was very good

Well it was a bit unrealistic but they were trying to make out that a large cyclonic storm system was sucking very very very cold air down from the troposphere so fast that it was not warmed up as it came down. This air was meant to be at something like -155 deg Fahrenheit (damn Americans dont know what celsius is
) so it would have caused pretty drastic freezing effects.Despite this the film is actually remarkable good. The unbelievable bits are well done so as not to be too noticable and averall it is pretty exciting. |

This film needed to be a documentry/drama type of film
whatever it tried to be, I still can work out. It was a mish-mash of hollywood style films of late. Alittle bit of a love story here, daddy rescuing his son here, mommy looking after a poor lukeamea sufferer here. Having a fair graspe about global warming and the worlds possible plight, the film was a big letdown. having said that is was O.K in parts and a fun film to watch with my girlfriend, however it could have been so much more considering it's poigniant storyline
meh

Well i though they were surprisingly frank in showing that the Americans were un willing to reduce pollution in the first place eg Kyoto agreement etc.
The film became increasingly Ameri-centric towards the end. In fact considering the British/European link at the beginning there was little mention of the situation in Europe or Asia. This despite the fact that Russian and Japanese astronauts were shown looking down on the situation from space. All the patriotism came back in with the presidents speech etc at the end .
