Shame they're gonna cash in and not leave friends where it should've been left, gonna be a big flop imo as half the appeal of joey was having chandler to take the piss outta him. why can't t.v companies just let things en gracefully like red dwarf and only fools should have

I think it will do ok not great but not bad, end of the day Friends had a HUUUGGGEEE following and the old fans will probably watch Joey (at least enough to maybe get into it).

i would be kinda annoyed if i was matt le blanc and after friends i couldbnt appaer in any films cause people would just think it was joey acting, cant blame the guy for trying

When you are involved in a legendary production such as this you must accept that you will be typecast. The compensation for this is money, lots of it. In this case the cast have been raking in over a million dollars an episode for quite some time now so they are minted to say the least

Definately cant blame the guy for trying, lost in space was hardly a film for him to show off any talent anyway. All the other stars have had other films with varying levels of success- courtney cox, scream 1,2 and 3. And Jeniffer Aniston certainly seems to be doing well in her movie career judging by the parts shes getting.

Not to dennounce any of the stars acting abilitys but i dont rate any of them very highly. They are a bunch of very good actors who happened to gel really well together on screen and combined with some superb scripts have made a stellar show over the past 10 years or so.

Seem to have gone a bit off topic here. I think it'l be a flop aswell. The strength of friends lies within the groups chemistry which is an obvious absence here. Clearly Matt has been offered a huge some of cash for this safe bet and who can blame him for taking it.

Have to agree with knox. Greedy production companies should let classics lie. Can you imagine how bad the red dwarf movie will be if it ever get made. Only fools and horses should have bowed out gracefully but no they had to spoil it...

I don't see how we can make an opinion without watching it. I'm gonna keep an open mind, it probably does sound like a bad idea but if they do it right it could be really good.

i reckon itll be a flop too i mean if they arnt gonna have any of the other characters in it, it will just be poor, the title is friends after all, or do u think they will have little apprences every so often like chandler walking in some time to say hello?

I think it will be a bit hit. Just think, if a tenth of the people who watched friends watch it, then it will be massive. Plus Joey was the funnist one of the lot.

I think the reason why Joey was funny was that he had the other characters to bounce off. Without them, I don't think he can be as funny when he's just by himself. Of course, the new characters they bring in might be as good. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

Regardless of whether its good or not, I'm sure lots of Friends fans will watch it (at least to begin with).

I think it will be a hit, ill watch it. granted joey works well off of the other friends peeps, but whats to say he wont be able to work even better off of just about anything else?

Spin offs have a reasonably good life span, Case in point Fraiser was a spin off from Cheers and thats still going strong. Also Angel was a buffy spin off and it managed 5 seasons. I think it will do ok.
