    Waterproof speakers

I was thinking of wiring up my house so i could listen to music from my pc wherever i am. Looked at something like the itrip but cant find a pc version. Looks like il have to be using wires instead. The only other problem i found was putting speakers in the bathroom, condensation would be a large problem. Are there any speakers which are still good quality and wont be affected by water which dont break the bank?

Could always put them in an airtight sandwich bag? Providing that the bag is large enough, and the speakers are small enough...

An airtight bag won't work as sound can't travel if theres no air, speakers shouldn't be a huge problem in the bathroom though tbh, we used to have an old radio in ours and it worked fine, until i knocked it in the bath anyway.....

An airtight bag will work as I don't imagine he will be making a vaccuum in there.

plastic bag and some zipties should see you alright.

That would involve drilling through brick to put an extraction fan in.

Do you want hi-fi sound? RS sell waterproof ceiling mounted speakers designed for this, but they aren't going to sound like a nice pair of missions.

I will want pretty good sound but it doesn't have to be the best since the shower would prob create distortion anyway. How much do RS retail them for? Really looking to spend as little as possible.

What you could get is some marine speakers, for use on speedboats etc. where they are going to get wet. I think they class them as "splashproof"
    e.g.

    http://caraudiosecurity.com/catalog/...hp+cPath+60_65

Most car audio manufacturers make them but they're a bit sparse on the web as the shops focus on the in-car stuff as there's more money in it than the in-boat stuff The link above might therefore be abit pricey as it's one of the only one that lists them, best bet is to call into an ICE shop and pick up some brochures then you can get the model no's and shop around.

Only thing to watch is you'll have a 4 ohm resistance from a car speaker rather than the 8 ohms from a home hi-fi speaker.
