Question Where Do You Buy DVD's?

As a follow on to Howard's thread about why you buy DVDs, I want to know where you buy them . Do you like to get a good look at the packaging and product before you buy, or are you happy to order the film online, knowing it's the contents of the DVD that matter, not what the box is like.

    play.com
local Woolworths if they have any decent offers on
    secondhand off the forums

Also made the mistake off ordering from splashdvd.com 'cause i got given a discount code for them. I pre-ordered LOTR The Two Towers for £11.99p delivered and i'm still waiting for it to turn up...a guy off another forum told me one film he ordered from them took 3 months to arrive...

    17 from Virgin (high street)
    3 from play.com
    1 from Amazon.co.uk

I never have enough money to buy DVD's, the only way I can part with the money is on impulse, hence high street shopping.

Most of my 73 DVD collection, including the ENTIRE Bond series (Upto The World Is Not Enough) and, at the time, all 4 Star Wars films were from China, for a measly 60p a DVD. That basically meant I spent £30 and got 48 DVDs!!!! all the quality is there, you just sometimes have to turn off some subtitles.

Nowadays I use play.com, cd-wow.co.uk (Check bargains threads for my suggestion), Baku (Explained below) and shops if they're going cheap.

Baku is a small town in Azerbaijian (Russia), a place I currently happen to be doing some work. There they have DVDs with perfect quality (And I do mean perfect) for US$4. Recently got myself Matrix Reloaded, Bruce Almighty and Charlies Angels 2 (Yeah, I have a weird taste in movies too).

If the Earth is a sphere how do you travel to the ends of it?

They are normally an impulse buy, so high street mainly. And if I DO want something specific, I want it NOW! so.. high street wins again!

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.
